Guinness for Healthy Skin

We at BFT are fond of natural polyphenols as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories for skin. Hops used in beer production are a source of polyphenols such as xanthohumol (XN), and its metabolites isoxanthohumol (IXN) and phytoestrogen 8-prenylnaringenin (8PN).

Is anyone here (other than me) old enough to remember the Guinness for Health campaign? Mainly a UK thing maybe.  But anyway — the health benefits of a deep, rich stout was widely believed.  I think it was the main ad theme for Guinness for the second hundred years or so of its existence. Then they had to stop when Ireland’s version of the FCC got involved.

Well, guess what? Turns out it IS good for general health.  Not only that, it is good for skin! read about it here  and here.

Drs. John and George have decided to make themselves available as subjects in a clinical trial and will intake as much Guinness as might be necessary to further test any or all of these hypotheses.

Xanthohumol also causes obese diabetic rats to lose weight, and lower their blood sugar. I’ve found my new diet supplement!

Disclaimer: The Guinness company bought my great-great grandfather’s whisky brewing property in Dublin.  I did recently invest in  6 bottles of Guinness Extra Stout, but own no shares in the company.  They have offered no product comps in exchange for our helping with their marketing.  This deplorable situation needs to be rectified.

    Hi there,

Have several skin issues, Peri menopausal, Melasma, large pores and congested skin. Last 4 months have noticed my skin really aging quickly. Had needling and I am currently using Anti Age products. I find many products that I used in the past and treatemnts ie laser etc seem to make it worse. My skin looked great after needling but noe almost 4 weeks later I find my skin looking worse again especially.

Hang in there with the microneedling + AnteAge. It requires a course of treatments, not just a single one. Let us know in 3-4 months how you are doing.
